Is Indian Advertising Sector in Boom.

The media industry is actually facing a bad time now but here is a reason to cheer as Indian Political parties are likely to spend around 800 crores on Ads.
And more over the IPL going around the Indian media industry is having a good time now.
But if you go to see many of big industries including MNC's are cutting on Advertising cost's.

Political Parties
Experts say the total advertisement spending by the political parties would be around Rs 800 crore. The Congress and the BJP alone could spend over Rs 400 crore on ads on television, radio and newspapers. Most of these ads appear on going to general entertainment and regional TV channels and hardly a small proportion in News channels.
Then what about Advani's Rs 250 Crores Ad campaign

The IPL Fever
IPL is one of the big source which will help the media industry and Set Max in common. IPL really has a huge TRP.

PS - This boom is short lived only till May.
What do Have to say ? Comment on this.

The shoe Election - It contineous and this time it is L.K. Advani.

The BJP’s prime ministerial candidate L.K. Advani had a slipper hurled at him yesterday. The incident occurred while Advani was at an election rally in Katni in Madhya Pradesh. The man who hurled the slipper has been identified as Pavas Agrawal, a former functionary of the BJP. He has been arrested and is being interrogated.

Look at Previous Shoe Games on Politicians.
I doubt if Advaniji would blog about this on this blog!

The Chappal (shoe) Election 2009.

Its becoming too common throwing shoes on politicians.
First it was Mr. Chidambaram and now its the turn of industrilist cum MP Naveen Jindal.
Its becoming a cause of concern that there is some mistake in the system that needs to be solved , the shoe game is just because of sheer anger.
In my openion no one would dare to throw a shoe on politicians unless and until he wants to be famous or is angry with him or her.
During election time this is become common. Two parties are fighting among themselves , Not done ! . I totally disagree with the idea of throwing shoe but a rather way is to participate in politics and getting involved and bringing about a change in the system.

Here is a video on " Shoe thrown on Mr. Chidambaram -

PS - How many more shoe's are to be thrown ?

Idea Cellular ad - a perfect example of democracy.

Recently Idea came out with some innovative ads on theam of democracy.

People of the world’s largest democracy, India, witnessed a new dimension of the proverbial ‘Government Of the People, For the People, and By the People’ while watching the newly launched media campaign of Idea Cellular a leading telecoms services provider. The new campaign gives the idea of ‘Participative Management’ for Governance where two-way communication is encouraged between government and public.

The brand tagline “What an Idea Sirji!” is the message given by Brand Ambassador, Abhishek Bachchan, which is echoed by the public at large in the story, and even viewers of the new imaginative ad. The ad explores the idea of Government(s) using mobile service as an efficient tool to gather public opinion and support, while taking vital decisions impacting people’s lives.

The new ad, based on the theme of ‘Democracy’ is the fourth in the series of IDEA’s campaign with its brand ambassador. The preceding ones carried the message ‘Championing a world without caste’; ‘Championing a world in which no one suffers from the disability to communicate’; and the third one based on the theme ‘Education for All’.

The new campaign is a milestone in the journey of IDEA’s brand building as it demonstrates the power of an ‘Idea’ by looking at mobile telephony and its benefits in a fresh, imaginative and elevating way. IDEA intends to create brand equity by continuously achieving excellence through individual insights that connect with the end consumer thus nurturing a culture of positive discussion and empathy.

IDEA connects with consumers beyond transactional offers by looking at mobile telephony as more than a mere communication device. IDEA aims to convey the message that ‘Mobile is a life-transforming tool for millions. It changes lives!’.

A perfect example of Democracy.
What should we think is Idea doing CSR or are they promoting their product as well as CSR ?

L.K. Advani now following Obamas foot steps.

Now you may be thinking how L.K. Advani and Obama are related to each others. Mr. Advani has now started blogging just as Obama did before he got elected as US President.
Its seems Mr. Advani is impressed with Obama and has started blogging just before three months of elections.

Why is he blogging? (www.lkadvani.in)
Simple. He is spreading a word about him self and his party and he wants that youth should vote for him.
He wants to be the next PM.

I went through his blog and found it too jumbled up. Things were'nt properly arranged where they should have been. But then too this is a good attempt.
He is also on Twitter.
More over he is promoting it via ads online. He is using Google Adwords for an instance.

Its not new that every one is starting to blog. Big B did it, Aamir Khan and even Lalu Prasad Yaday did it.
Its good to see Indian politics online.

What do you feel is India Shining ?
