Ways to survive a Stock Market Correction.

We saw that markets corrected lately and this was a big cause of concern every where. Recession was googled every now and then. "Recession" has become a buzz word now.
There are people how booked profits when the markets were at all time high and there are people who have not at all booked profits. So the idea being is Invest Smartly. Why cant we be one among those who booked profits at a higher levels.
It is said that "no one can ever buy at a bottom price and no one can ever sell a highest price , it can only be done by liers."
As I always say don't forget the Newtons law of Motion - Every thing which has gone up has to come down one day.

Here are a few ways to survive a stock market correction -
  1. Don't Panic - Panic is not the solution to this. Instead invest wisely.
  2. Don't indulge in frequent buying and selling - Frequent buying and selling wont give any thing accept a huge loss.
  3. Stock Market recession should be seen as an opportunity. Recession is always termed as an opportunity as things are available at a cheaper rate.
  4. Don't follow peoples advice where investment is concerned. Try and figure out things on your own.
  5. Be confident in your decision. Make decisions after a detailed study , don't make any harsh decision.
  6. Stop following even analyst and also stop following their crazy tips. They give tips of rs 1 stock which will become Rs 20 in a year or so a 2000% return. Fake , stop trusting them.
  7. Don't look at your portfolio every now and then. This will give you nothing accept tension.
  8. Being patient is a key to success.
  9. Diversifying your portfolio. Recession is the best time to diversify your portfolio recession is the best time as things (stocks) you always loved are available at a dirt cheap rate.

A positive side of Recession - Air India Saves 46 crores by implementiong fule efficiency programme.

Striving to become a 'green airline', Air India today said it has made savings of over Rs 46 crore in six months till this February by implementing several measures to enhance fuel efficiency.
The airline, in what started as a cost-cutting measure, achieved this by implementing a comprehensive range of measures to make each flight as environment-friendly as possible, minimising fuel consumption and carbon emissions and reducing noise levels.

In a bid to reduce weight of the aircraft, the airline has controlled in intake of water and even the weight of the food trolleys and magazines inside the plane.

Carrying of contingency fuel has been reduced from five to three per cent, with the crew tasked to comply with this move, the official said.

Fuel burn was being checked continuously through various methods. These include flying the aircraft on a straight flight path at an optimum height and speed. Via

PS - I would rather term this as a positive side of Recession as we got something new to see which saves cost and can directly benefit the travelers in future where air tickets are concerned.

Tourists stay away from Incrediable India

Last year was unlucky for the tourist industry in India and also the world. First the stock markets globally fell like any thing and the second thing to happen was the terror attack on Mumbai premier luxury hotels Taj and Trident.
That's not all , tourists all over the world are stopping to spend money due to recession.
Many say Slum Dog Millionaire has also spoilt Indian image globally.

What if there are hardly any tourist visiting India in next 6 months?
Imagine the situation ?

Ways to short list the right stock for you.

Here are 7 ways to short list the right stock for you.

1. IS THE COMPANY’S MARKET CAP MORE THAN RS250 CRORE?
2. ARE THE COMPANY’S TRADING VOLUMES HIGH?
3. DOES THE COMPANY MAKE QUALITY DISCLOSURES?
4. DOES THE COMPANY HAVE OPERATING PROFITS?
5. DOES THE COMPANY GENERATE CONSTANT CASH FLOW?
6. IS THE COMPANY’S RETURN TO EQUITY (RTE) CONSTANTLY ABOVE 10% ?
7. IS THE EARNINGS GROWTH CONSTANT OR CYCLICAL? (via)

Whats my take on this -
A person should also not listen to others and invest he should ask questions to himself about the companies performance.
What I would like to add is that one should see the profits of the company (gross and net) later should check the growth potential of the sector (future potential) depending the time frame you want.
Just don't look out for all positive aspects also look out for the risk in the company and also in sector.

Its true that even after doing this you many not get a super gem of a kind but you will surely get a good company of future growth potential.
Investment in long term may only help.
Remember Recession are the best time to pick good stocks , start analysing them right away.

8 things to do during recession.

Its recession most people are free as there is nothing to trade or else salary cut and so less on spending on luxury and comfort and worst case is that they have lost their jobs so nothing to do.
But one should not underestimate these recession times as they can last longer than the good times.

Is the US housing bubble responsible for all this mess?
The answer is yes to some extent and there is no use of sitting and crying.

There are few things you can do during recession times.

They are –

1. Firstly don’t see Business news channels all the time and also be away from stock tickers (Do not watch stock prices every now and then).

2. Keep your mind running, plan out new ideas. Research on stocks which you think are a value buy and accumulate them. Remember buy when others are selling and sell when others are buying.

3. Don’t sell just buy. Your long awaited bluechip stocks would be available at a dirt cheap rate. For me it is Unitech and Suzlon.

4. Don’t over trade – Some times even some quantity of day trade can get you a huge loss. So be careful and trade when you are confident.

5. Games can help – Play Poker and get some cash or else play some online game on stock markets say for example Money Bhai Investor from MoneyControl.com.

6. Read Books – Reading books can help you figure the economic situation at macro and micro level.

7. Save fuel. Rather than using your car or bike use public modes as it is cheap and economical. In fact you are just not saving fuel but you are saving your precious money.

8. At the end be away from loans. If you already have taken loan which is yet to be re paid don’t take a fresh loan again.
